At Mobile Vet, we bring exceptional animal care to your front door. Serving the greater Los Angeles area, we care for all species of animals, bringing our top quality service, products, medicine, and supplies right to your home.
We begin our days at 8 am, at our office located in Glendale, CA. Our office staff starts by organizing the schedule of the day’s appointments, grouping appointments that are close together so that we can maximize travel time. They also make time before the day gets busy to return any emergency calls that may have come in, and add these urgent patients to the schedule for the day. We schedule our appointments on an all day basis to allow us to see the emergency patients as soon as possible, as animals in dire need of care always take priority.
While the receptionists work on the schedule and field incoming calls, the doctor and the veterinary technician are also working to prepare for the day. Doctor Cauble likes to stay current regarding the status of all his patients, and reviews updates on critical patients before heading on the road.
On the road to see you, the doctor and technician review each patient’s medical history and current condition. If you’ve called recently with a question for the doctor, this is also when they review those files, noting answers to your questions or calling you from the road if time and safety allow. Because we may not have much time in between housecalls, we do ask for your patience while waiting for an answer to non-emergency inquiries. You’ll hear back from us within 48 hours.
When we get to your home for the housecall, it’s up to you and your pet where you’d like the visit to take place. Some pets are more comfortable on beds, some in yards, and many prefer the floor. We’ll do whatever we can to make sure that your pet is comfortable and happy during the examination. Being at home for a vet visit greatly reduces the amount of stress on both the pet and the owner, and many owners find that pets are much better behaved in this familiar environment than in a traditional doctor’s office. While we encourage pet parents to be present for the examination, we do ask that you allow the doctor and tech to handle the animal, however.
Dr. Cauble will take time to examine your pet and talk to you about any questions or concerns you may have. Mobile Vet is stocked and ready to perform everything from vaccinations and well-check visits to lab work and minor surgeries. The doctor can administer treatments and take diagnostic samples right in your home, a much calmer environment for your pets during what can sometimes be scary procedures.
At the conclusion of a housecall, we clean up, prepare prescriptions, and complete our medical notes and invoicing. The doctor will review treatment plans with you and go over any special instructions for after care. Payment is due when services are rendered, and we accept cash, checks, and most major credit cards.
When all appointments are finished for the day, the doctor and technician make their way back to the office to process lab work, review files, and restock supplies. They often stay late in the evening to complete replies to any questions that they weren’t able to address while on the road for the day. The office staff works to organize the new information that has come in, calling back clients with answers to their questions and setting future appointments. After ensuing that the truck is stocked, files are updated, and everything is prepared for the next day, the office closes at 4 pm.
We thoroughly enjoy the relationships that we have with our patients and clients, and feel that working together across all aspects of medical treatment is the best plan for your animal’s care. If you should have any questions after the housecall, please don’t hesitate to contact us via phone or email.
